This movement recruits fast twitch muscles causing the development of explosive power from the glutes (butt muscles) through the core up through the arms, shoulders and neck. This a a fantastic overall exercise that will get you more powerful overall while increasing your anaerobic threshold.
This lower body power builder is a great exercise when I’m trying to increase the height on my box jumps. The power generated from this movement is similar to the power needed when performing a single leg box jump.
