Jim Adams working out with Charles Dao doing 45 second, 10 yard sprints with a back pedal. I was shooting for a total of nine up and back. By the end, I felt like I was wearing concrete blocks for shoes. My heart rate elevated to the highest it’s ever been – 195 beats per minute. This was my second exercise of the day, I was fully recovered, and it took about four minutes to fully recover from these sprints. My quads were burning big time.
Interval training is performing high intensity movements for short periods of time. The goal of my interval training is to raise my anaerobic threshold and increase my power output.
